As a 7th Grader in Boca Raton Florida, we had a music class and we studied Tommy the Original Album and had to digest and write about it's themes, musical styles, etc. It was the first time I realized that music would be an important part of my life forever.

In deep East Texas, the only radio was Country. I got a combination FM/8Track receiver with a huge T antenna that could pick up KZEW in Dallas Texas. A very early Album Oriented Rock Station, they played the deep cuts that would always challenge me to learn more about music. They hosted a live radio broadcast from January Sound Studios with artists that you had never heard of - Foghat, Aerosmith... and Peter Frampton - who I heard do this live in a much better version LONG before it was popular. Only years later would I find out some of the better looking girls/cheerleaders were also what we called each other, Zoo Freaks.

On another Dallas station, they had a Sunday evening program called "The Artists Hour", and it was after our Church Colllege Youth Group, which meant my girlfriend at the time would come over and listen with me. They often played a lot of Dan Fogelberg, and that was what became the soundtrack of that phase of life. We got engaged and married just after that, and are still married for more than 40 years now... PS - this is the only Fogelberg you have? Really???

We bought our first house in Houston/Friendswood - and the first thing I did was set up the stereo and put this on at full volume. The houses on either side you could barely hear it ;-) Success. We had a surprise house warming party with 10 other couples who also had moved their for the Space Program, and we all sat in the back yard with the windows open to celebrate - with this and other loud music ;-)

Starting in 1983, we would have a quick change to the play list ;-) 3 kids in 5 years, this was the soundtrack. The 3rd in 1987 was a "screamer" who would only quiet down when we put in the Raffi Tape ;-) Many MANY miles were spent listening to this.... Years later we were at a concert of 80's music, which my Wife didn't know any of... and I reminder her of Amie 83, Ben 84, Kyle 87 - she was on a different station than Katrina and the Waves ;-)
